I visited here looking to get a gold bracelet I’d bought elsewhere adjusted as it was too big. The woman behind the counter was really helpful and she arranged to have it adjusted then and there by the jeweller. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Excellent friendly service- would recommend!!

Steve was absolutely fantastic throughout. Great communication, genuine people and fabulous service. I bought a watch for my wedding day (a last minute purchase) and Steve and his colleagues at CS Bedford made sure I had it for the big day despite the tight timeframe. It was packaged and presented beautifully with a heartfelt note from Steve wishing me a wonderful day. Great and professional service, they advised me on other ways I could get what I wanted, and this benefited me in the long run. They do sell but also buy and create one of a kind pieces. I had trouble in the Ruslip area just trying to get in the jewelers, no such problem in CS Bedford's case the security let me right in, and greeted me with subtleties. I felt comfortable and like a valuable customer, I would and have recommended them to friends.

Description

Girard Perregaux are one of the few Swiss brands to still retain Manufacture status, with the ability to complete all of the necessary horological skills in-house. The Vintage 1945 is an Art Deco style in a modern size case which wears beautifully due to the curved case-back and down-tilted lugs that let it hug the wrist. The movement is the in-house self-winding Calibre 3306, with 32 jewels and a 46-hour power reserve, displaying hours, minutes and small seconds. It also features complex patented calibre that displays the date and moon phases without compromising the time- hands. It takes one ten thousandth of a second to change the date, which is displayed on two overlapping fine discs, one of which is glass. The effect of this is invisible separation between the numbers. No other twin-date watches have come close to achieving this. The dial is a subtle off-white colour that adds to the vintage feel. It is beautifully executed with applied rose gold indices and hour markers. The rose gold hands are faceted (not just stamped out), and the moon and stars are also depicted in rose gold against a deep blue background. Everything has been designed to catch the light, and this effect is then accentuated by an elongated, arched (rather than domed) crystal, and the overall effect is stunning. This example is a full set with everything that would have come with the watch when new, including original Warranty card and all booklets. It has also recently undergone a full service by Swisstec, who are Girard Perregaux’s official UK service centre, at a cost of £1000. The watch has been worn sparingly since, and as a result is immaculate, and also benefits from Manufacturer’s Warranty until 9^th November 2021 (the service card is provided). The watch comes on a GP alligator strap and 18k Rose Gold Deployant clasp. The rose-gold version of 1945 XXL Large Date Moon Phase currently has an RRP of £22,800, and the quality of the watch fully justifies that price tag.
