Movado has a history of collaborating with contemporary artists. In this case, James Rosenquist designed the Eclipse watch in the early 1990s. The case shape itself is unusual — it resembles overlapping circles/ellipses, symbolising time, continuity, and celestial motion (hence the “Eclipse Ellipse Elapse ” name).

The watch is sometimes referred to as part of the Movado Artist Series, which included other collaborations as well. These pieces are collectible, especially among those who appreciate both fine watches and modern art.

This watch dating from 1991 is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition showing minimal signs of wear to the solid silver case. The three separate manual wind movements have been checked and regulated by our Watchmaker. 

The watch comes with its original display stand of a perspex pyramid, together with its original outer box. The watch comes on its original blue and silver leather strap combined with a James Rosenquist signed deployant clasp.
